The opening reception for "The Struggle For Art II, Cracked Egg" will be Saturday, April 3, 2010 from 9 am to Noon in CornerStone Art Center, located on 1500 - 119th Street in the back of Centier Bank. All are welcome to attend.

The Struggle For Art is concerned with creating a work of art from an idea or vision and how to portray these to the world at large. It is a battle within the self. Being an artist, one is bound to undertake divergent views of the world. Many times the artist is conflicted between the real world and personal ideas and visions. This makes it difficult in creating a work of art; a struggle artists have had to endure for as long as markings were made on cave walls. It is an age old struggle that an artist undertakes and is bound to persue. Choosing elements and expressive actions, the artist is driven to express a singular idea or perhaps create a commentary on society or one of life's mysterious notions. Artwork is but a fleeting glimpse into our world.
